When I told my dad I was going to ask Addie Galey to be our buying agent in Pittsburgh, he asked, "because she's an agent or because she's a friend?" The answer was both: My knowledge of Addie as a person made me certain she would be an excellent agent. I knew her to be fun and kind, an A student, an MVP who plays to win, but also a true team captain - someone who would have our best interests in mind, advocate for us, and make sure we hit all of our goals. I knew she spent years in a major corporate marketing role before pivoting to real estate, so she would have a unique arsenal of relevant skills. I *didn't* know the first house we toured, before we even listed our Seattle house for sale, would be our dream home. That we would go home from that tour on a Thursday evening and call a mortgage officer for pre-approval while Addie wrote up an offer with competitive strategies to mitigate the fact that we still had a house to sell. Then she got confirmation that another offer was coming in, so she changed offer tactics and guided us through writing a letter, all that night. NOBODY thought we would get a house in the East End without selling our Seattle house, let alone before listing it. Let alone over another offer. Let alone two days before the sellers had an open house scheduled. Nobody except Addie. Our offer was accepted and throughout the closing process we kept waiting for the ordeals everyone kept saying would come - but they never did. Addie made sure we were on schedule, referred us to friendly and competent professionals for every step, advocated for us when needed. I read reviews from Addie's clients and saw a theme of people feeling like they'd worked with a friend. I know that's true - not because I'm blessed to call her a friend, but because that's who she is as a person. She will treat you exactly as well as she would treat her friends. I'm so glad to say we closed on our dream house this morning after a stunningly smooth process, and to recommend Addie's real estate services without a shred of reservation or hesitation.
